BRS backs “One Belt, One Road” Legal Service Center Project

BRS has been invited to join the “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR) Legal Service Center project, led by BRS’ Hong Kong partner firm, Stevenson, Wong & Co.

The OBOR initiative was introduced back in 2013 during the visit of China’s President Xi Jinping to Central and Southeast Asia to enhance cooperation, increase cultural exchange, and broaden trade between countries along two main routes, the land-based ‘Silk Road Economic Belt’ and the ‘Maritime Silk Road,’ which runs through Africa, Asia and Europe.

BRS is helping to establish the Legal Service Center in response to growing demand in the region for legal consultancy services in relation to foreign direct investments between OBOR countries and cross-border business opportunities.

Partner firms include Colin Ng & Partners LLP of Singapore, Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill of Malaysia, Mochtar Karuwin Komar of Indonesia, Quasha, Ancheta, Peña & Nolasco of The Philippines, and Vision & Associates of Vietnam.
